John runs Renaisi’s research team. He has worked at Renaisi for over five years, and has supported a broad range of clients across a number of research based issues. This includes the EC1 New Deal for Communities programme, where he managed the research and performance function of the ten year programme.
John has a large amount of experience in conducting qualitative, depth studies with officers, project users, residents and other stakeholders. He also has a good understanding of statistics and statistical analysis software, and has designed several large multiple method research projects. He is particularly experienced in interviewing and working sensitively with adults and young people in complex and challenging circumstances.
He has worked with a large number of local and national organisations, including Big Lottery, the MLA, the Prince’s Trust, the Princess Royal Trust for Carers and several local authorities. His strength is working in partnership with teams to understand their work, to design robust research programmes, and to bring an analytical understanding to work which can often be hard to define and value.
John holds a BA from Warwick University and an MA from Kings College, London. His academic and previous experience gives him a good knowledge and understanding of public and social policy, which he continues to engage with through a variety of think-tanks. He has been on the executive committee of a social and environmental campaigning organisation and a mentor to young offenders within Islington. He is a school governor at his local primary school in Haringey, and is a director of a London Credit Union.
