Nicola Doherty

Nicky joined Renaisi in December 2002 and came with a wide range of experience in dealing with the private, public and voluntary sectors. On her appointment to Renaisi, Nicky was responsible for the management of the Haggerston and Hackney Wick SRBIII Programmes and subsequently Hackney Works, a £1.2million welfare to work programme. Nicky was responsible for developing the Hackney Works model into one of the borough’s leading welfare to work programme, assisting over a thousand residents into sustainable employment.

Recently she has worked with Hackney Council and Partners to produce a 10 year Regeneration Delivery Framework for the borough and to facilitate the borough’s involvement in long term legacy planning of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. She is currently working with the London Borough of Camden to develop a borough wide apprenticeships programme, and the London Borough of Enfield to deliver their Place Shaping strategy. She is our lead consultant on training into employment programmes and regeneration and neighbourhood renewal strategy.

Nicky’s regeneration experience spans 16 years working for Newcastle City Challenge, Newcastle East End SRB Partnership and Westgate New Deal for Communities before coming to Renaisi.
