Renaisi is currently providing interim management support to the London Borough of Camden to help deliver two of the key projects in the borough’s recession action plan.
Local Procurement Project
Principal Consultant Russell Peacock is working on the borough’s European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) local Supply chain project – the Camden and Islington Sustainable Procurement Project (CISPP). This project, which operates under the “iCAM” brand, seeks to build the capacity of local SMEs to access sub-contracting opportunities with major contractors, particularly in the construction sector related to major developments such as King’s Cross. Russell is providing a range of advice and project management support to the project, as well as helping to engage new buyers and suppliers, particularly in the environmental sector.
Business Engagement & Town Centre Initiatives
Jeremy Shapiro has been appointed as the Interim Town Centre Development Manager, helping to implement the borough’s restructured town centre support offer. He will be working with business associations and traders groups in seven town centres to ensure that the council is responding to business needs and developing targeted interventions to support local retailers and services. Part of the role will be to work with the council’s business facing services to help coordinate their delivery at an area level and ensure they are in regular contact with local businesses. He will help to deliver targeted town centre support schemes through the £6 million Camden Recovery Fund. He will also feed into the development of the council’s broader town centre strategy.
