Planning and Local Economic Development

The coalition government has signalled a very different approach to regeneration with the Local Growth White Paper and the more recent Regeneration to Enable Growth document. Much more responsibility will fall to local areas, businesses and communities to work out ways of stimulating economic growth and tackling deprivation. The government is committed to removing barriers and providing incentives and this offers a good opportunity for real community led regeneration, which has been one of our core aims since we were established in 1998.

Renaisi has a first class record of supporting sustainable economic development and can work with communities, businesses, developers and local authorities to achieve an area’s economic development priorities. Our ability to understand and manage the complexities of the local economy, stimulate inward investment, revitalize town centres and support business growth and retention means we are well placed to support local areas. Our approach ensures that interventions translate into successful action at the local level so that every neighbourhood, individual and business has the opportunity to prosper.

We have also developed a comprehensive community-led planning advice service and have built partnerships with planners and developers to change the approach to and the standards of services like Masterplanning and spatial strategies.
