Realising the 2012 legacy benefits for Waltham Forest

Jon Stout, Renaisi Principal Consultant, was appointed Interim Head of 2012 at the London Borough of Waltham Forest.

The Olympics position demonstrated Waltham Forest’s commitment towards embracing 2012 and all of the opportunities that it brings. Jon led the Council’s engagement with the Olympic and Paralympic agencies and set the foundations for ensuring that the Council has a coordinated approach to its involvement in the Olympics.

Jon Stout explains,

“There are plenty of exciting opportunities that will result from the Olympics for our residents, particularly around employment and skills, increasing participation and engagement – particularly focussing on sporting activities and cultural events and ensuring that the Games are both green and sustainable. My job is to ensure that Waltham Forest and its residents are best placed to take advantage of these opportunities and to ensure that Waltham Forest gets the sustainable legacy from the games that it deserves.”

Rob Pearce, Head of Sustainable Communities at Waltham Forest commented:

“We are very pleased to be working with Renaisi and delighted that they are able to provide us with experienced managers like Jon who can help us cover these important areas of work”.

Jon will stay in post until a permanent successor is appointed. He has previously held an interim position at Hackney Borough Council, where he spent the last two years as Head of Regeneration – responsible for economic development and managing their multi million pound NRF Programme.
