Helping people with specialist needs to find work with Southwark Works

We are bringing our experience of supporting people with complex needs to Southwark

Southwark Works

Client: Southwark Council

Southwark Council’s Southwark Works programme aims to get 5,000 residents into employment by 2019. It offers services to local people with specialist needs, such as those with health related barriers or with histories of drug or alcohol misuse. Renaisi is leveraging our experience of supporting people with specialist needs to help the council to meet its goals. We have a particular focus on people in Southwark who are long-term unemployed and aged over 50.

Our approach

We are providing our employment services to Southwark residents via our South London centre. The help we provide includes:

  • One-to-one support to improve employability, such CV writing sessions , interview techniques and assisted job search
  • Support with debt or housing issues
  • Better off calculations and benefits advice
  • Confidence building workshops
  • Accredited training courses: in customer service, construction and health and social care etc.
  • Access to job vacancies
  • In-work support

Our involvement in the programme is still in its early stages, but we have already seen success, with many of clients finding work. We have also built strong links with a wide range of employers.
